Halloween party in the woods

Halloween party in the woods This was the first time we had held a Halloween party in St Helens Woods and so we did not really know what to expect. We decorated the BBQ site, made the soup, cakes and other goodies and waited to see what happened. The moon came out casting a spooky light on the site. Suddenly, from out of nowhere it seemed, ghosts, ghouls, witches and zombies turned up to join the party. They threw themselves into the spirit of the occasion, playing musical chairs, musical statues and other games, such as pinning the heart on the skeleton, or knocking bottles over with the swing-ball. They took part in the fancy dress competition even though they couldn't see that there was anything different from the way they always dressed and the winner walked away with our special beheaded skeleton trophy. Some also tried their hands at making broomsticks and spider webs or masks, whilst others had even more scary faces painted on or had their arms "tattooed" with wicked designs. The witches' kitchen kept everyone filled up with creepy cakes and hot soup to fend off the cold night air. The more adventurous risked the frogs belly jelly! Toasting marshmallows until they were soft and squidgy before popping them into the mouth for a sweet treat also had the bonus of allowing the spirits to warm themselves around the fires. Then, as spookily as they had arrived, they drifted off back to their graveyards for a good night's sleep. Check out our gallery This is the last event for this year and so we hope you all had a super time and we thank you for your continued support. Good wishes to you all and see you in the New Year.
