Secret pond grant

As mentioned earlier this year a grant to reinstate the secret pond was applied for. I am pleased to announce that we were successful as such I am appealing to friends of St Helens Woods for volunteers to carry out some of the work. BBQ site

As we understand the guidelines for outdoor food and drink we would be obliged to sterilise the site before and aftereach use as we unable to provide this service the BBQ  will have to stay closed until there is a change in the guidance.

Rumours going around the woods….

Some of you may have heard about a dangerous pack of dogs lost in the woods.
Here are some of the facts. 3 dogs – 1 male, 2 female of the Bull Dog breed (not Pitbull) got out of a garden in the Dunclutha area and went on a jaunt on their own around the woods.They scared two walkers to such an extent they climbed a fence and phoned the police. A local dog walker rounded up the dogs and when the police arrived they caught the two females. All three were returned to their owner who had been looking for them.
Hoping this may lay to rest some of the rumours that are going around.
Stay safe and continue to enjoy the woods.

Work in the woods

For any one unable to visit the woods just now here are some photos of the work that the volunteers have been enjoying over the last year. Mowing/ditch work/fencing/tree work/ect.

Tree planting

Due to the latest information and not to put any one under pressher to attend it has been agreed to put of the tree planting booked for the next two weeks till later in the year Be assured the trees will be heeled in and water will be given as and when needed as such they will last until the end of the year.

Summer fayre

With no need to state the reason it is with much regret that we have decided to cancel this year’s summer fayre.
