Your voice is needed – proposed housing development on The Ridge

URGENT: YOUR VOICE IS NEEDED ON THE PROPOSED HOUSING DEVELOPMENT AT THE EDGE OF ST. HELEN’S WOODS!
If you’re a resident local to The Ridge, you may have received a leaflet from the land promoter Gladman Ltd. regarding a proposal to build 80 new houses between The Ridge and St. Helen’s Woods (on the land also known as ‘Sandrock Bends’).

The potentially significant environmental impacts that this development might have on the St. Helen’s Woods nature reserve in terms of hydrology and ecology are a serious concern.

The proposal also raises concerns for the communities of Hastings including lack of infrastructure and increased traffic.

The St. Helen’s Park Preservation Society is actively working with planning and ecology experts to ensure these concerns are addressed, and that other opportunities for housing development are considered. Nobody wants this development to harm the St. Helen’s Woods nature reserve.

The more feedback the council and the developers get, the better they will understand the public’s concerns, so take action now.
